A fun place for expressing their imagination and making discoveries
The design for the Sand Factory is based on the principle of a trail and resembles a small factory equipped with several activity centres that help children discover how to handle and model with sand. The Sand Factory uses play and fun as a way of allowing children to learn, while stimulating the senses of the youngest users.
Children can unleash their imagination as they make their way through the factory by performing a number of activities with the sand, such as extracting, pouring, flattening, moulding, sculpting and transporting.
Excavators, carts, conveyor belts, cranes and chutes are used to link each activity centre together and require children to use all their coordination and agility skills to transport the sand. The sieve, embosser, foundry, moulding wheel and scales call on their motor skills, concentration and creative streak.
